"What do you MEAN they sent me here too late?!" The indignant voice came screeching down the hallway, and was closely followed by footsteps pounding through the floor. Very shortly thereafter, a young woman of what WOULD have been impressive beauty came thundering into the common room that had been delegated to the two young Queens and their riders. Aura was seated therein with Quinith, who looked up, startled, as the girl came crashing in, then squeaked and slid behind her rider, peeking over her slender shoulder. Emerald eyes narrowed as the girl came closer, her own sapphire eyes flashing at the Queenrider, and Aura hissed sharply as the girl hauled her to her feet, causing Quinith to snarl viciously and snap at the girl's leg. The blonde squeaked herself and danced backwards, releasing Aura, but her eyes still narrowed and flashing.
"That's MY Queen, you young twit!" she growled, and one ebony brow rose slightly as Aura glanced at Quinith, who merely growled again, her tawny tail lashing and eyes red and yellow. She could sense her Pearl's confusion and anger, and knew that this oddball was not exactly straight.
"Umm... I'm not sure what you think is supposed to have happened, Miss, but Quinith is not your's," she said, remarkably calmly given her back was now burning where the idiot woman had hauled her up and pulled her stitches.
"YES SHE IS! AND YOU STOLE HER!" the woman screeched, and lunged at Aura, who danced back just in time. The girl overbalanced and tripped, hitting the floor on hands and knees, which brought her face to face with Quinith, who was now between her and Aura, snarling angrily. The girl scrambled backwards and to her feet, back to the safety of the door. "I WILL get her back!" she snapped, and turned, disappearing out the doorway and leaving the Pearlrider and her dragon to themselves. Her threat, though, remained, and Aura took a deep breath.
"I hope she wasn't serious," she murmured, kneeling beside her still furious Queen, and who pressed into her reassuringly. "I don't know what she plans to do about it..." She will do nothing to you, Aura. YOU are Mine. Not that bubblehead. Aura snorted with suppressed laughter for the description, and hugged Quinith gently.
