Just thought I would share with you all the image which popped into my head for what the sea serpents might look like after reading what information is up about them. I've tried to draw them with a longer, narrower looking muzzle when compared to my usual dragons/firelizards and short stubby headknobs which would interfere as little as possible with swimming. Since there was nothing mentioned about what their limbs were, except that they had one, I've gone with a wing/fin set up rathr than legs. The 'wings' act as highly flexible and moveable fins when in the water, with both the pinions and the spines on the male's crest being cartilage rather than bone, allowing them the flexibility to move with the twists and turns of the body. The front limbs have developed an extra 'finger', which is used for grabbing hold of things.

Those are awesome Red! However, I was picturing them with just normal limbs, maybe with webbing between the toes. They're amphibious, so they do need the capacity to walk on land as well as swim.

Okay, did a new set with feet. Obviously as legs they needed to be closer together than the wing-fins were, so now they have this really really long tail, which kinda actually makes them look more serpent-ish I think. I did a bunch of staring at various amphibious reptiles to try and get the legs looking correct for the necessary swimming motion that limbed aquatic/amphibious beings have. They all seem to have these really massive and long hind-legs and shorter forelegs, which is why the proportions might look a little funny of these guys.

Those are awesome Red. Thank you. Hatchlings look much the same as adults, only in miniature, and the males don't have the crest yet.
