General - R'ver is a man of many angles. He has broad shoulders which angle down into a slim waist, with long limbs which are stronger than they look.

Skintone - A naturally olive skintone has been darkened with a near permanent tan thanks to the outdoors lifestyle of a rider.

Scars - R'ver has a few scars. The most notable is a twisted down his right side starting at the bottom of his shoulder blade, widening out as it moves around his side and then narrowing again to end touching the line of his pelvis.

Hair - Thick, black and very curly, R'ver wears his hair fairly long. If it were straight it would hang below the line of his shoulders, but with the way it curls it actually sits somewhat above them. This length however is enough that, when needed, he can pull it back and tie it away from his face. He prefers to leave it hanging loose when he can. R'ver maintains a somewhat scruffy set of facial hair, dark lines along his jaw and curving around his mouth.

Clothing - Even if he hadn't started out with an preference for dressing nicely, over a decade with a amethyst dragon in his head would have ensured that R'ver's wardrobe choices were flattering ones. Even his simplest clothing is well made and suited to showing off his figure.

Personality:

Sharp - R'ver has a bit of a mouth on him. He does not hesitate to tell you what he thinks of you and whatever stupid situation you've gotten yourself into that requires his particular attentions. He cares little for rank when it comes to doing his job, being just as willing to tell a queen rider what he thinks as he is with a member of the weyrfolk.

Empathic - Though he hides it behind a sharp-tongue and acerbic manner, R'ver's actually a quite kindly person. His problem is that he cares a little too much about the world around him and finds all too easy to understand what another person is feeling. It is a part of why he became a healer in the first place. When you care as much as he does, it is easier to cope when you have a way of helping and at least, when he finds someone in physical pain, it is a pain he can ease, unlike pains of the heart and soul.

Gentle - If you watch what he does rather than what he says, you will discover that R'ver is a gentle person at heart. He's the sort who'll give a treat to a child who has been a good patient, slip bits of food on the side to the local stray animal population and and is always, always, as physically gentle with his patients as he can be. R'ver always tries to do his best by others, even when he's calling them all kinds of names for doing something they shouldn't have.

- Rianver is born in Emerald Plains hold. His mother is a teacher while he father works with the hold's horses.

- Beginning to notice those around him and understand the concept of crafts, Rianver decides that he wishes to be a healer when he grows up.

Age 12
- Being of apprenticeship age, Rianver convinces his mother to let him try for an apprenticeship with the hold's healer.

Age 14
- Rianver impresses to an Emerald firelizard. He names her Lady.

Age 16
- Rianver is searched for a clutch currently on the sands at Southern Weyr. having heard what happens when a dragon does not find it's rider, and having been assured that he can continue his apprenticeship at the weyr, Rianver accepts.

- Rianver fools around with a rather lovely young harper by the name Merygan. She is his first real taste of intimacy. Both of them know that there can not be anything serious between them, with Rianver set to stand as soon as the next clutch hatches, and thus stand a chance of impression.

- Amethyst Alexith finds Rianver upon the sands. She declares him to be hers. Rianver changes his name to R'ver.

- Merygan informs R'ver than she is pregnant. When she gives birth it is to a healthy girl, Migan. Though R'ver initially worries about how Alexith will react to the baby, he finds that she is as enamoured of the child as he is.

Age 18
- Alexith makes her maiden flight.

Age 20
- R'ver walks the tables to become a Journeyman Healer.

- R'ver impresses to a Topaz Firelizard. He names him Duke.

- R'ver is blessed with another daughter. She is named Riahnon.

Age 27
- A small kitten moves into R'ver's weyr. He doesn't have the heart to kick the small scruffy creature out of what is probably the only warm and somewhat welcoming place she has ever known. It doesn't take long for him to start feeding her, though he suspects Duke may have been feeding her right from the start, since the topaz flit seems very enamoured of the cat. In the end, R'ver names her Duchess and she becomes firmly a part of the family.

Age 28
- A massive craft crashes to ground. When Pearl Aketh calls, R'ver and Alexith answer, pausing only for R'ver to gather necessary supplies before they head out to tend to the wounded.

Alexith is a pretty creature. Her base colouration is a delicate pink-purple tone. A lighter colour covers the underside of her wings and the toes on her forepaws. A darker shade colours her spinal ridges, flowing out to colour her wing-arms and form short socks on her forepaws.

Personality:

Gentle - Alexith is a balancing influence upon her rider. Where R'ver tends towards the sharp and acerbic side of things, Alexith is a sweet creature who does not hide her gentle care.

Maternal - Possessed of a strong mothering instinct, Alexith loves to take care of others. She loves to fuss over people and she's the sort who'll happily start preening anything smaller than she is, and anything bigger too if she thinks she can get away with it.

A small and delicate looking firelizard, Lady's name is rather fitting for her looks. She is a pretty thing, with a fairly deep emerald base colour lightened along her underside and the insides of each leg by a lighter shade of the same colour. This lighter shade also colours and underside and upper side of her wings. A bright yellow-green colour marks each of her neck-ridges and colours each toe.

Personality:

Flirtatious - Like so many of her kind, Lady is a terrible flirt. She loves to tease the boys and show herself off. She can be a touch vain, always wanting to look her best and present herself to her greatest advantage.

Distractable - Lady is not the most focused of firelizards. She is easily distracted by things, especially if their move and/or shiny.

Reliable - Despite her tendency towards getting distracted, Lady is a flit who can be relied upon to be there when she's really needed. When R'ver needs her, she's there, and when he makes it clear that what she's supposed to be doing is important, then she'll get it done first time.

A big and stocky flit, Duke is veyr much what most people would think of when they think of a Topaz. He has a yellow base tone. His head, back the backs of his wings and his tail are all marked in a deeper orange-yellow shade. This same colour forms short socks on his forelegs and stockings to his knees on his hind-legs and then thick faded stripes up to his elbows on his forelegs and all the way up to his hips on his hind-legs 

Personality:

Illogical - This topaz has his own special kind of logic. It doesn't often make sense to anyone else, but it clearly makes sense to him. Duke will offer you something and know perfectly well that you don't want it, but no matter how you protest, he'll just keep on offering until you take whatever it is. It is not uncommon to hear R'ver carrying on an exasperated conversation with this flit about how Duke really isn't helping as much as he thinks he is.

Helpful - Duke is a helpful firelizard, for a certain value of helpful. He tries, he really does, but he rarely gets things right. He's kind of clumsy as well, which doesn't help his case.

Appearance:

A rather large cat, Duchess is the perfect example of a big and fluffy feline. A calico cat, her fur is a jumbled mix of large patches of black, ginger and white.

Personality:

Independent - Like most cats, Duchess is a creature that likes to do her own thing. She'll do what she wants with no real care for whatever it is that the humans think she should be doing. Like getting off their work.

Cuddly - Duchess loves attention. She's the sort who loves to sit on your lap, or on your work, or in the middle of your stomach when your sleeping. And she'll be very insistent about getting pats and scratches, whining and bumping her head against you until you give her what she wants.
