Appearance: Lenara doesn't look much like her well-known half-sister at all, really. Her hair is dark, almost black, and her eyes are bright green in contrast. Her skin is pale, though it does tan a little. She is just above average height, at 5 foot 7, and has an athletic build. She carries a small riding sword on her hip at all times, and can often be seen training in the early mornings or evenings, when the air is cooler. She tends to wear short-sleeved tunics and trousers, though she is known for having a dress or two on hand for formal events.
Personality: Lenara is strict, that much is for sure. She can be nice when she wants to be, but if you go to her expecting a pity party, you're going to be surprised. Though, if you go to her asking for help with a specific form, or with an issue that you can't work out, she will happily lend a hand. She will play mediator, but she will not take sides. She will simply state how she sees the situation.
She is very loyal, especially to family ties. If you try to insult her sister, she will not let you get away with it. She is a good teacher, but she will not be gentle if you are late, or if she sees that a dragon has not been oiled properly.
History: Lenara was born to a young Emeraldrider, and was soon left in the care of Ista's creche. There was one girl who often cared for her, a Candidate named Helena, Lenara's elder half-sister. Helena helped look after Lenara even after she Impressed her Pearl, until Lenara was of Standing age, until she was fourteen. Though she tried at first to brush off the young Queenrider, she eventually saw it as a futile effort. They did grow relatively close despite this, and there is still a bond between them to this day. Though Lenara never knew her mother, both girls knew their father slept around a lot.
Lenara was allowed to Stand at fourteen. And, in fact, at sixteen, she Impressed to Iabureth. At the time, she was still wondering what had happened between her and her sister, to cause the older of the two to stop coming. Lenara had enjoyed the time spent with Helena as a child, so it was still strange to her, even two Turns after the Queenrider had stopped visiting. But the Aquamarine dragoness that had Chosen her helped her realize that it was her sister who no longer wished to be involved. So, the two began to grow distant.
Lenara learned quickly, becoming the Weyrlingmaster's assistant when she turned 18. He had been searching for an assistant for a while, but none of them had met his expectations. He was a very strict man, V'nal of Topaz Retenath. But, he was also an older man. He retired when Lenara was 22, and she took the post. She also took an assistant from one of the classes of Weyrlings, but this time she would have plenty of time to train the Rider herself. This one was a young boy, aged 16, R'kal of Sapphire Ikerth. The boy was rather timid, but she could see in him the same helpful longing that her teacher had seen within herself, so she took him as her assistant. As the Turns passed, he grew more self-confident, and was even able to lead the classes on the rare occasion when Lenara was unable to do so.
Then, just a few days ago, Lenara was called in by the Weyrwoman, her own sister. Remnants of the bonds they had in childhood were still there, a slight feeling of longing, on Lenara's part, for the relationship they had in the past. However, when Helena explained about what had happened, and about the new Weyr being formed around the crash site of the off-worlders, and, even better, a Queen's Clutch, Lenara knew what she had to do.
"Allow me, I will go be the Weyrlingmaster there," she insisted. "R'kal is much more confident now than when he was a weyrling, he is a young man of twenty now. He can take over my duties here. They need a qualified Weyrlingmaster, and soon, if that Clutch is as late as you say."
Eventually, Helena allowed Lenara to leave Igen, to go to the new Weyr known as Sea Cliffs. After just two days of packing, Lenara said her goodbyes, holding one last lesson as Weyrlingmaster before officially turning it over to R'kal.

Personality: Iabureth is a very calm dragoness, who prefers to let her rider speak. When she has something to add to a conversation, she does so and then withdraws, simply preferring to observe. She has mellowed quite a bit with age, though sometimes her hotheaded heart speaks through. She can be very vocal, though when she is it tends to surprise people. Upon Hatching, she chose Lenara because she could feel the loneliness in the young girl's heart. And everyone deserves to have someone.
