Appearance: D'ral is a scruffy older gentlemen, but he has aged well. His hair is cropped short and while it used to be a rich black, his age has led to mor grey than he cares to admit. He also favors a scraggly beard, more from lack of shaving than actual choice.
His face is rakishly handsome, with a demeanor that seems to put people at ease when he is around. While his voice has gone gravelly with age, he has worked to always speak in a soothing and calm tone. It's rare that this man raises his voice, unless he is berating his dragon or calling for supplies.
He is about average height, and slender due to his level of activity, almost underweight as he has tendencies to forget to eat unless prompted. His hands are actually somewhat feminine, thin, with long fingers perfect for his career of choice.
Personality: He is naturally soft spoken, as he finds a quiet and calm tone are the most conducive to keeping his patients from panicking while he is treating them. The man is quite devoted to his work as a Healer, and not even Impressing a dragon has stopped him.
He is more fond of gentlemen, but the odd lady is able to turn his head. He doesn't mind Flights, and has has his fair share of partners since Impressing, but hasn't ever formed any serious relationships.
He doesn't do well with children, even when Healing, as he finds them irritating and a waste of his time. He isn't aware of any children he has sired and doesn't care to find out, as he doesn't want to be a fatherly type.
History: D'ral was born in a small cot hold near Lemos, and from a small age found pleasure in helping the Hold's Healer with his various tasks. When he was found to have an aptness for Healing, the Healer put in to have him Apprenticed at Healer Hall. His family gifted him
His time at the Hall was pretty standard. He kept quiet and stayed out of trouble as Healing was his passion. He was promoted to Sr. Apprentice at 16 and Journeyman at 18. His first Posting was working in Southern Weyr, helping out the current Healer.
On his first turn at the Weyr, he was with the Healer as a Clutch was due to hatch, and they were on hand to treat any injuries. D'ral wasn't paying attention to the actual dragons, so didn't notice that a Sapphire had hatched and was heading towards them.
The Weyr Healer nudged the boy, pushing him towards the dragon. D'ral furrowed his brow in confusion as he was just supposed to spend a turn or two Healing, not becoming a rider. He had never had any inclination to Riding even. But the dragon doesn't lie and Zuloth bonded with the teen, making him D'ral of Sapphire Zuloth.
This didn't stop him from his passion though, and as soon as he graduated Weyrlinghood, he went right back to healing. He has never obtained the Master rank he dreamed of, but he was happy to be able to practice his Craft over the turns.
A few turns ago, someone found a Clutch of Sea Serpent eggs, and D'ral managed to acquire one. This hatched into Teal Alina and he couldn't be happier.
With the Clutch of eggs found to be good, he requested to be on site, as he jad a feeling that the idiot ( to him) kids wouldn't know a dragon from a tunnel snake, and he knew his services might be needed. You can never have too many Healers after all.

Physical Description: Zul is an average sized Sapphire, at about 38 feet, though his coloring is quite striking. His hide is a dark midnight blue, interspersed with lighter speckles of azure over his head, shoulders and back. As he has gotten older, the area around the speckles lightened, leaving a nebulous effect on his hide.
Personality Description: Zul was a big prankster in his younger days, though now he has mellowed significantly. He limits his pranking to his rider for the most part. He has learned from his rider how to help keep dragons calm if D'ral is working on their rider. He tends to make jokes to lighten the mood of his rider's patients, and is not afraid to speak to anyone, rider or not.
