Appearance:
Da'nam stands at 6foot exactly. He isnt very muscular to look at but he is remarkably strong. He has brown hair which he keeps very close cropped, his eyes are brown and tend to be suspicious and untrusting. He isnt as broad shouldered as some but he has a nicely trim body with well developed muscles. He has a bent nose thanks to it being broken a couple of times during weyrlinghood. It makes him look rather dangerous and rough.
He tends to wear mainly dark brown not black, not a very colorful man by any means of the word.
Personality:
Watchful, careful, thoughtful, intelligent, wary, loyal to the Weyr, protective and suspicious of things he knows little about.
Da'nam is a very quiet, watchful chap. He tends to hang back and watch things happen around him. He takes action when needed but isnt one to leap into a situation before knowing what is going on.
He will never take sides. He is always the impartial observer, willing to point of the errors to both sides. He can seem almost aloof, even arrogant. Which he actually is. He is the sort of man you will like one day and hate the next. He has no time for bullies and tends to turn the tables on them. He is a clever man, never under estimate him. He is quick witted, highly intelligent and extremely capable.
History:
Born and raised in the Weyr. His parents were both riders, so he was raised in the Weyr, running free and causing chaos with the rest of the weyrbrats.
It was his first hatching and he impressed the third dragon to hatch. There was no hesitation from either dragon or candidate, they moved towards each other, impression was made and the two have been a strong solid pair ever since. Those who knew him said it was no surprise, he had only ever wanted to be a rider.
Da'nam and his Topaz dragon were quickly seen to be pushers. They never backed down from a challenge and were always the first to volunteer. They were quickly the ones to copy, but that also put some noses out of joint. Da'nam was often getting into fights and had his nose broken a couple of times. He refused to have it set properly preferring to keep it looking bent and giving him a dangerous appearance.
They had only been graduated a day when the Topaz took to the skies after an Emerald. They won it and this was the first step towards gaining quite a reputation when it came to flights and winning. He has even won his share of Queens, siring a couple of clutches over the turns. he has never won a leadership flight, Da'nam isnt really interested in leading, he prefers to watch and criticise.
When the strange burning erupted from the sky he was one of the first on the scene to help. but he has never trusted the new arrivals. He feels they are unknown and should not be trusted. He knows they cannot be sent back, but they could well be exiled. He fears they will be a bad influence to those they mix with. He has decided to watch them carefully.

Basic Physical and Personality Description: A very bright orange and yellow shaded Topaz. He is a stunning with his bright patchy hide, certainly a creature to look at, Really solid and well muscled which is rather a weird combination. He is quite large at 46 foot and really heavily built.
On land he seems to lumber, he isnt a runner and tends to plod, but in the air he is a fast flyer with stamina to match Onyxs. Thanks to his large wing span is is able to glide long distances when he catches the warm air steams.
He is a very quiet dragon. He tends to only talk to his rider and then in a very quiet, almost whispered tone. He loves to riddle, something that annoys Da'nam, but Garyninath seems to enjoy making his rider a little annoyed. If he does talk to others, which happens rarely he will talk again in riddles and questions. he never seems to answer any question without his own question. He can be infuriating.
